HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!! I am so excited for 2010 (it is so weird to say say that date)! I will say though that I am sad that my 2 week vacation from work is over. I told Brandon last night that this is the first time that I really just don't want to go back. But none the less, the time is soon going to arrive for me to go back, and I of course will go with a happy heart and smile on my face!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and that Santa was good to you!! As you know Brandon and I spent alot of our time on the road. We left Birmingham on Wednesday and headed to Columbus to have Christmas with Brandon's parents. We left there on Christmas Day afternoon and headed to Montgomery to be with my parents. Santa was pretty good to us this year, a few of our highlights include: gift cards to Lowe's to replace doors in the house, and new bedding for our bedroom ( I love it and will post pictures soon). Brandon got a briefcase, clothes, tools, and text books (for certification). I got some pictures, clothes, decorative plates for my kitchen, shoes and a cross necklace from Brandon (so pretty). So all in all it was good Christmas, and we had a blast with family as well.

Well we are headed to Montgomery this afternoon to celebrate New Years. We are continuing our tradition of ringing in the new year with Lacey, Chad, Shay and Josh. This is our 3rd year doing this. Brandon's cousin is getting married Friday in La Grange GA so we will head up there Friday. Hopefully we will get watch most of the Auburn game though!!! Let's all cheer hard and hope for a BIG tiger victory! WAAAAARRRRR EAGLE, HEY!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

So our journey is about to begin....Our Christmas Journey! We are leaving this afternoon after lunch to go to Columbus. We will spend Christmas Eve with the Bias', have Christmas morning and then we will head to Montgomery about 1:00 to be with my parents and Lee and Stacy and the kids will come for dinner. You will be impressed to know that the car is already packed with all our presents and everything else is ready to be carried down the stairs! Barkley has even had his Christmas bath=) It is really hard for me to believe that it is Christmas time already. I will say this had been a busy season (as always). I had to go to the mall yesterday and I will NEVER go to the mall again 3 days before Christmas....It was CHAOTIC! In all the hustle and bustle I had to step back and calm my nerves and remember the real meaning of Christmas. I thought back to the verse we put on our Christmas card....

"The Lord has done great things for us and
we are filled with JOY!"
Psalm 126:3

The Lord had done great things for us and everyone else out there as well. I am filled with Joy to have a God that is so good, he is always there and has a plan for me and our family. I hope you all have a Very Blessed and Merry Christmas!!!

OH Christmas Tree...

So I am posting a few pictures of my Christmas decorations for this year. Unfortunately it is gross outside, so I was unable to take a picture of the house with the decorations, I will try and get on that though!

This was a nice and lazy weekend. My personal favorite! Friday night we went to my school Christmas party, but only stayed a short time because it was outside, and I have been battling an evil sinus infection (again). So we left early and kept Molly so Scott and Tammy could go to the Indian Princess Christmas party. So needless to say I slept in on Saturday! Then Barkley got sick and had an accident in the house and there was blood involved so off we run to the vet. Thankfully he is fine and had no parasites or the sever gastro disease, so they think he just ate something that irritated him. On a positive note, I finished my Christmas shopping last night ( I can breath now)! Today was a pj day and I completed all Wrapping! Well, enough rambling from me, I will leave you with Christmas pictures to hopefully enjoy! Oh yeah, and YEAH for the last week of school before the nice break!!!!

Since I have no mantle, I had to turn the built in bookshelf into one!

This is my wreath that I made, LOVE IT! I am going to keep it up year round, but just take the holly out and change the ribbon!

You gotta love my little man asleep under the Christmas Tree!!! And just in case you are wondering, YES he does have on a green Chirstmas shirt that says HO! HO! HO! on his back!

Christmas at the Bias house

So Christmas is just around the corner! I am so excited, because I love this time of the year. I love the smells, the foods, the decorations and of course the presents (not to be a brat, but who doesn't)!!!! My kids at school are excited, hyper and WILD!!! I am in DESPERATE need for Christmas break to get here so I can enjoy the peace and quiet and calmness!!!! Don't get me wrong I love my kids, and I love to see how excited they get, it is priceless!

I am done decorating finally, See I brought stuff back from Montgomery that was my grandmothers, so it has been a slow process, but I think it is complete. I made all of my wreaths this year, even the one on my front door, which I LOVE!!! I promise to take pictures over the weekend and post them! I have a Christmas party tonight and one tomorrow night, so I have a lot to do when I get home, cooking goodies of course=) Well I best finish up my work at school, so I can get my chores/errands done for tonight!

Happy Turkey Day!

So the most delicious day of the year is here! So excited to be out of school for the rest of the week ( I mean whoo I needed a beak)!!! Brandon is at work, so I have the house to myself. Yes, I am excited, because I am bout to cook all my food for Thanksgiving, change the sheets and towels, and swiffer! Brandon will be home about 12:00 so needless to say I have got to get to work! Here is what is on the menu to prepare today.... Squash Casserole and frozen cranberry salad (this is a new recipe, I hope it is as good as it looks and sounds) for Montgomery and Pineapple casserole for Columbus.

I am going to keep this post short, since I need to get started on my "chores"! I do want to mention what I am thankful for this year though, I am Thankful for my wonderful, loving and supportive parents, The relationship that has developed between me and my brother Scott, our new home, a great job in a GREAT school system with great teachers, friends, health, Barkley, and for a sweet, handy, loving, friend, supportive, hard working, and all around great husband.

I hope you all have a very safe, happy, and blessed Thanksgiving with family!

P.S. WAR EAGLE on Friday, everyone I know will be tuned in for the Iron Bowl, the game where all records are pushed aside, because you just never know what will happen! WARRRRR EAGLE, HEY!!!!!!!!!!

Time is Flying and I have SO MUCH to do!

http://oels.byu.edu/student/idioms/proverbs/images/time_flies.gif

Is anyone else out there wondering where the time has gone??? Why is it that when it is the Holiday season, time goes by SO FAST??? I mean Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas will be here in NO time! Needless to say I have so much to do!!! Lets see, where do I begin... I need to figure out what I am going to take to the Holston Family Thanksgiving in Montgomery, I need to see what Bernice (mother-in-law) wants me to bring to the Bias Family Thanksgiving Dinner, I need to clean the house, and get things ready for a few days of travel. Oh did I mention I have to work this week and Monday and Tuesday of next week, and I have TON to do! Oh and did I mention I am WAY behind in my Christmas shopping? But we will save that for another post!

Brandon has to work through lunch on Wednesday (the day I will spend cooking and cleaning), then we will head to Montgomery. We are planning to have dinner with Shay and Josh that night, then it is back home to help Diann get things ready for Thursday lunch, YUMMY!!!! Scott, Tammy, and the girls will join us and the Lee and Stacy and the kids will come for dessert. Then Brandon and I will head to Columbus for Thanksgiving dinner with his family. It really works out well that they do dinner, that way we can be with both of our families on Thanksgiving. Of course, we will spend the night in Columbus and will be there for the Iron bowl. As of right now we don't have any plans, but we WILL watch it somewhere because we all know it will be and interesting game as always! Until next time when I have decided and been told what to cook for each Thanksgiving location!!!! Have a great rest of the week=)

Swine Flu=(

Well, it looks like Mrs. Bias could not avoid the SWINE FLU!!!!! Yes, unfortunately I am stuck at home for the next 3 days taking tamaflu and laying on the sofa. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the break, but I hate being away from my classroom. Let me just tell you a bit about the good 'ole swine flu and me...It hit my like a ton of bricks out of the blue. I was fine Saturday, went to Montgomery, made some money doing a yard sale with mom and dad then the 3 of us (Brandon stayed in B'ham working) went to the Holiday Market, then I came back to Birmingham to watch the (terrible) Auburn game at Scott and Tammy's. I was a little congested and tired but that is all. By the end of the game I told Brandon I had to go get some medicine and go home. I was aching and freezing and I knew I had fever, and I did. By the time I got home I felt Horrible. Every muscle in my body hurt and I could not get warm. I made Brandon sleep in the guest bedroom! That morning I just was miserable and had a fever of 101, so I went to the Doc in the box as soon as they opened on Sunday and he swabbed my nose and low and behold I had the dreaded SWINE FLU! I knew going in that I had it. I feel WAY better than I did yesterday but I am just really tired and weak right now, so I plan to just rest. I hope all well with everyone else, and I hope you all have a good week!!!

Love Me Some Fall!!!

So Fall is finally here, the weather is turning cooler and the leaves are slowly but surely changing colors and falling! I am a big fan of decorating for fall. I LOVE pumpkins, and all the different kinds there are. I don't know about you, but for me there is just something about Fall and its decorations. The richness of the colors just make a home inviting. From the pumpkins to the leaves, to the candy corn and gourds. Don't worry, I have already hit up Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Micheal's, and Pier one to help me decorate our home for Fall. I am posting some pictures of some of the things I have done. I hope you all enjoy this beautiful fall weather, and that it puts you in the mood to decorate your house if you can. Oh yeah, and on a change of subject, I hope Auburn continues there winning streak up in Arkansas on Saturday, WAR EAGLE!

It has been awhile!

Ok, I guess I am BAD at this whole blogging thing!!!! I get so busy and side tracked, that I don't think about stopping to update my blog! Even though I get bummed out when other people don't update theirs for a while. Well, the preschool life has gotten off to a decent start. The kids are great, I just have a ton of them! Can you believe some days I have up to 12? Let's just say on those days I celebrate and crash with 12:45 gets here and everyone is loaded in their car and sent home to be with their mommies! I don't care what anyone says, it is HARD work. You try and deal with 12 three and four year old, some with special needs and tell me you are not tired!

As far as life in the Bias' house, we are good. Enjoying doing little projects around the house like FINALLY hanging the light I bought over the kitchen table, hanging the chandelier in the living room, peeling paint and repainting door frames, pressure washing the deck (Brandon), Cleaning (deep cleaning that is), and bringing furniture and odds and ends from Montgomery to help us look like we live there=). This week we will be rushing to do one more good cleaning and wrap up all projects, as I am hosting my ENTIRE family for lunch on Sunday!!! You see my brother Scott turns the BIG 40 on Saturday and my mom's Birthday is on Monday. Tammy is throwing Scott a Surprise Party Saturday night, so my parents will be here for that, as will we. However it is no kids allowed, and due to lack of space, Lee and Stacy can't come. So I decided to have everyone up on Sunday for Lunch and catch up! So unless something happens between now and then we are all set. I will be fixing to 2 LARGE poppy seed chicken casseroles and I have ordered a cookie from Publix. I am sure we will have a blast! I will post pictures if we take any, and I will be sure to let you know how it goes!

Brandon and I have also enjoyed watching the new and improved Auburn Tigers!!! Although I will say the game Saturday was a bit tense at times. We definitely look better than we did this time last year. But don't get me wrong, we will have some work to do!!!

I will work hard not to get to busy or preoccupied to update again. I hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend. Cheer hard for your team, even if it is Alabama!!!!

Well, Today Is My Last Day Of Summer!

Well, THE day has finally arrived, ready or not...Tomorrow is Dooms Day! I have to go back to the working world! It will all get kicked off at Institute Day and the High School at 8:00 then onto faculty meetings the rest of the day. I cant decide if I am ready or not, but I guess that does not matter now does it! I will say though, I am excited to see all my sweet little kido's though.

Brandon and I got back from the beach on Monday, it was such a nice trip. It rained on Friday when we were driving down, so we didn't get to go to the beach that day, then when we woke up Saturday it was raining, but then we saw a window of no rain, so we hurried to the beach and the sky cleared up and the sun came out for the rest of the day! Sunday had a 60% chance of rain but it was hot, sunny, and clear ALL day! So in a nutshell it was a perfect beach trip. We also had fun just hanging out with Scott and Tammy and of course the kids!

Well I am going to enjoy my last day of Summer vacay by having lunch with Beth, running a few errands and going up to the preschool to do a couple of things to get ready!!!! Talk to you later, have a great rest of the week=)

Sadly, My Summer Is Coming To An End=(

I can not believe that I have to go back to work a week from Thursday! This has been a great summer, and a wonderful break! I think this is the first summer where I have truly enjoyed doing nothing. I have really enjoyed just being at home watching TV, cleaning, and working on various projects! I definitely know that Barkley is going to miss his momma going back to work, and not being at home with him!!!

So, since I only have one week left, I think I will just live it up! I am going to Atlanta tomorrow to spend the night with Lindsay and hopefully I will get to see Lee too. Then I am going to go get my hair cut in Auburn, on my way to Montgomery. I miss Lindsay at Dimensions (where I used to get my hair cut when I lived in Auburn). She was just one of those, that you could say do what you think will look good, and it always did!

Brandon has to work in Lee County Thursday so I am going to stay in Montgomery, and he will come there when he gets done. Then Friday we are going to head down to Destin for a long weekend at the beach with Scott, Tammy, and the girls. We plan to sit on the beach, drink beverages, maybe read a good book, and just do nothing and relax and have a GOOD time! We decided we MAY go to dinner one night but we will definitely have no pressure! Scott's best friend from high school has a condo on the bay in Destin, and he told Scott that he and Tammy could have it for the week for FREE, and they kindly asked us if we would like to join them, and of course we say YEAH!!!! So hopefully I will have some fun beach pictures to post and some friend pictures from Atlanta!!! Have a great rest of the week and weekend, enjoying the rest of you summer!!!

Excited bout the weekend!

Sooo excited about the weekend! And it really kind of starts tomorrow. See, Allison is getting married in Memphis on Saturday and Lacey and I are both in the wedding, so she and Chad are coming to Birmingham tomorrow to spend the night so we can get up early on Friday to head to Memphis for the bridesmaid luncheon! I can't wait for Lacey and Chad to get here, they will be our first guests in our new house!
Lacey and I are going to go get pedicures when she gets here, we are excited, because it will be like old times! Then we will grab the boys and go get some dinner. I am sure we will have a great time, times with Chad and especially Lacey are always fun and entertaining! We are excited to head to Memphis together, after the wedding we plan to go out on Beale St. and don't worry we WILL visit Graceland before we leave!!!!! Oh, I know you are jealous=) Well I have to go finish cleaning my house, I will post pictures from our adventure(s) this weekend. Hope you have a good weekend as well!!!!

One of My Favorite Things About Summer

This DELICIOUS picture is one of my favorite things about summer....FRESH VEGETABLES! It is also the plate of food I fixed for dinner last night! My mom and Grandmother loved to fix fresh vegetables in the summer, so naturally, I fix them too. Well, yesterday I was craving fresh Lady Peas and Silver Queen Corn! So, off I went to Andy's Farmers Market to make a few purchases to go along with the Pork Chops I had thawed out for dinner. My purchases consisted of Silver Queen Corn (which I came home and shucked!), Squash, Okra, and Lady Peas. Let me just add that I was a sight yesterday of a TRUE Southern Girl, sitting on my couch shelling peas! That is right, I sat on the couch with a the TV on and a bowl that I shelled 1.5 pounds of fresh lady peas into. Just thought I would share one of my joys of summer with you, and also make you a little jealous and hungry! We will be eating more dinners like this, as it was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I feel I have had a very productive past couple of days. Brandon's car was in the shop so he took mine, because I wanted to stay home and get things done, and I knew not having a car would force me to do that! Yesterday I cleaned the house, I was extremely domestic if I do say so myself! I have also been working on a decorating project that I have been wanting to do. I found an old window in the basement of our house, so I cleaned it off and painted it brown (the same color as the bookcase in the den). I picked out 6 pictures from the weeding, honeymoon, Barkley, and other trips and had them printed in black and white and it 8x10 sizes. I am going to tape them on the back side of the window and hang it on the wall in the den, so you will see a window with a picture in each pane (I will post pictures when I have finished it, which hopefully will be today!).

Once again, we are packing to head out for the weekend. Do you know that Brandon and I have only spent one weekend in Birmingham since we moved into the house??? Crazy I know, but I guess that is summer for you! We of course are heading to the lake today for the 4th of July. Brandon and I are going to go to Lake Harding tomorrow to spend the day with Ed, Jessica, Katie, and Ty, then the Holston Families will come down Saturday morning. As always we will have a fun time in a packed house....5 little girls, 1 baby boy, 8 adults, and 2 possibly 4 dogs!!! How does that not sound like a blast! We will definitely be entertained and never bored!

Since we are leaving when Brandon gets off of work, I have alot to do, including packing for both of us, making a dessert to take, changing the sheets and towels at the house and running some errands. So on that note, I better get a move on. Have a great weekend and Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Home Sweet Home...FINALLY posted pictures=)

Well, here it is, Home Sweet Home!!! So, I am finally posting pictures of our house=) Brandon is out of town for the night, so figured I would FINALLY take pictures and post them! When looking, keep in mind, I am new at this so I tried to to it the easiest and most space efficient way. So here they are...

This is the unfurnished living room. At some point I am going to bring up a rug, sofa, chairs and table up from the storage room in Montgomery. I just have to find the time and the car to do it with!!!

Master Bedroom...

The Guest bedroom...

The Hall Bathroom...

Our One Year Anniversary!

I can hardly believe that Brandon and I have been married for one year! Yup, that is right, yesterday was our Anniversary (June 21)! We had a very nice day, we went to New Orleans for the weekend. We woke up and had brunch at the "Palace Cafe" where live jazz music played! It was delicious, I enjoyed a crab meat cheesecake (soo yummy) and a Crab meat quiche (also, quite tasty) all while sipping on my mimosa! Then unfortunately we had to get in the car and head home. We were both pretty tired when we finally got home (5 hours later) that we just decided to order sushi to go. We LOVE to eat sushi at Ichiban here in Birmingham, it looks like a whole in the wall, but their sushi is FANTASTIC, and I must admit was spot on last night!!! After dinner, we exchanged our gifts....I got Brandon a not so romantic but desperately needed gift of a Weed eater and a edger changeable head and of course a much needed button up collar shirt! My gifts were PERFECT, I got a beautiful David Yurman bracelet, and a tennis racket! Ok, I will explain the tennis racket....I have been wanting to start playing tennis, and have looked into getting lessons, so I guess to push me to do Brandon gave me the equipment I need to play! Then after the exciting present opening, we cut the top to our wedding cake! Not going to lie, it did NOT taste terrible! It was a little dry, but still had good flavor.!

Ok, last night Brandon taught me how to post pictures on here (he posted the snow pictures for me) so that I can finally post pictures of our house (in another post later today!) So I am going to experiment with some right now! Happy Monday=)

This my Cake on our Wedding day!

This is the top of our wedding cake one year later, not as pretty as it was one year ago, and not AS tasty, but not terrible either!

Can I please have my summer vacation now!

One of the many joys of being a teacher is that you get to have summers off! Well, I would like for things to slow down so I can have mine now. As you know from previous posts we have bought a house, painted, cleaned, and moved in. We moved the weekend I got out of school, then I started teaching summer school on June 2. I will say on a side note, that I have enjoyed it. I only have 2 kiddos and they are supper cute! You read in my previous post about Tammy, which came as a shock. Then last Tuesday, my mom had her knee replaced in Birmingham. Everything went GREAT! She is doing well, sore of course but you know Diann, she is going to power through so she can get back to her busy life! She started Therapy yesterday, said it was pretty strong, but what she expected. All she could say was thank goodness for Lortab!!!! As I said she had her surgery in Birmingham, which was convenient for me, as my dad stayed at our house (she was in the hospital Tuesday-Friday) so I had to keep him happy and fed! I came back with mom and dad on Friday to help out at home and am going back to Birmingham today (Tuesday).

Some of you may remember I got married a year ago this coming up weekend! I know, can you believe it has already been a year???? Time flies when you are having fun! Also, the week before I got married Baby James was born (first "Holston" boy to Lee and Stacy). He turned one yesterday, and is as cute as ever! While in Montgomery, I took Sarah to see "Up" it was a pretty cute movie, I think she enjoyed it and I did too.

Well to celebrate our anniversary, Brandon planned a trip for us. We are going to New Orleans on Friday Morning. It is only a 5 hour drive, so we are going to strike off about 9:00 on Friday and come back late afternoon on Sunday (unfortunately Brandon has to be out of town Monday-Wednesday next week). I have not been to New Orleans since I was little, so I am excited about the adventure. Hopefully we will take some neat pictures for me to post, and I know I still need to take pictures of the house and post them too....but I have just been a bit busy and have not gotten around to it, but I will I promise!

Speaking of the house remember I told you mom had surgery in Birmingham last week and I had dad? Well on Thursday, I had a workshop and school till 12, well we also got a new roof on Thursday so they started at oh 6:30! Also Brandon and I FINALLY bought a new sofa and over sized chair that we desperately needed! Well don't worry because it was delivered on Thursday! Let me just say Thursday was a BUSY but EXCITING day at the Bias house!

Well I think this might be a record long post!!! But I guess it has just been a while and a whole lot of things have been going on! I hope you all have a Wonderful week and weekend=)

Sad News

Hey Just wanted to let everyone know that we got some sad news on Friday. Tammy lost the baby. They don't know what happened, she went in for her usual appointment and there was no heart beat. She is in the hospital now, having a DNC. Please keep them in your prayers. They are both struggling with this, but trying to be strong for each other and the girls at the same time. God has a plan for them and all of us, and he knows what is best in every situation, even if we don't think so. Have a good day!

It's Been a While

I know it has been awhile, but things have been quite busy!!!! As I told you in my last blog Brandon and I bought a house, So we have been very busy with that. Brandon's dad and Jim and Diann came up last weekend, and we painted ALL day Saturday and ALL day Sunday. My brother Scott came over and helped out too. I went to Lowe's and picked out a new vanity and light for the hall bathroom, and my dad and Scott put it in. Let me just tell you it made that bathroom look SO much better!! Well on Monday, Brandon's brother and mom came up and we moved all our stuff from the old house, it was a long, hot, tiring day, but we got it done. I have been working this week to get us settled, but it is hard work! I promise to take some pictures this week (if not sooner) and put them up!!

I am teaching Extended School Year this summer for the special needs kids. I just can't sit at home all summer and do nothing, I would spend to much money and get in trouble!!! Especially when I am dying to get new curtains and sofa and chairs recovered, and just find pretty things to set out, and hang on the wall. So work starts on Tuesday, but it is only 2 days a week and then it will skip a week. Not to shabby of a schedule but keeps my busy enough! Since I wont be working all day everyday, I will still have a good amount of time to do some fun projects I have in mind for the house.

Well I have got to plan for Extended School year and type up my lesson plans, so I will be ready to go on Tuesday! Since school is out, I will TRY to post more!!! Oh yeah on a different note, I told you Scott and Tammy were having another baby in my last post and well, they found out what it is and its a ............GIRL!!! Yep, that will make 4 girls WOW! My poor brother! They are all very excited and a Tammy and the baby are great. I will keep you updated on the as well=)

New Home Owners!!

Sooo, Brandon and I finally bit the bullet, We bought a house!!! We are sooo very excited. IT really is a funny story, because we have LOVED this house since we started looking. However, we thought it was out of our price range, so we let it go and moved on. Little did we know it would come back to us (which must mean it was meant to be!). You see, we re-figured our incomes and that fun stuff and discovered that we were selling our selves short when it came to the price of the houses we were looking at. Of course, when we came to the conclusion, we immediately went back to "Our Favorite House!" Which we then put a contract on, which was then accepted the next day!!! The inspection is set up for Friday, and I plan to go over there and take pictures and look at paint samples. Of course, as soon as I get pictures, I will post them for all to see!!!

I must confess, I am SOOOO GLAD we found a house! It is a fun process, but at the same time, it is ALOT of work and VERY stressful. I will admit and most of you that know me, know that it is true... There were some tears in the process (ok, their were lots of them!!). Brandon and I did agree on one thing, we are very HAPPY and feel very BLESSED with how the process worked out for us.

I can't wait to see how the inspection goes on Friday and I will post Pictures as soon as I take them=)

Oh yeah, one more bit of new and exciting news....So I have had a secret for about 3 weeks. I had to keep it from my mom (which is hard for me!!!), But she finally knows so I will share with yall...My brother and sister-in-law -Scott and Tammy are having ANOTHER Baby!!!! Yes, you read correctly, Bailey(11), Lauren(9), and Molly (7)are going to be BIG sisters!!! This was NOT planned and VERY much a SUPRISE (to us all). Tammy is doing great, she is 14 weeks and they will find out what it is on May 11th and she is due October 16th. I think I mentioned in one of my other post how close Scott and I have become.... I am going to have to say this may bring us even more closer. I never thought my brother would look me in the face and whole heatedly say "Megan we are going to need your help." and "Will you be willing to put a car seat in your car?" My responses: "I am here to help all you have to do is call, and I will come." and "Of course just tell me what to go and buy!" We are praying for a BOY, but we will find out on May 11 for sure!!!

I think that is all of my exciting news for now, I think that is ENOUGH!!! Talk to you soon and will post Pictures of the house soon too!!!!

Rainy Beach Weekend=(

So Brandon has a conference at Orange Beach this week. In fact he left this morning about 4:00 to head down there ( glad it was him getting up at 4, not me!). So last week, he asked if I would want to meet him down there, we thought about it, and questioned whether the weather would be pretty (always a gamble at the beach) and at the last minute we decided, why not. So we booked a one room condo for Thursday-Sunday. Then of course and as you probably know it is POURING DOWN RAIN and will continue to do so through Saturday=(. How bad does that stink, because I am driving down after school tomorrow and was hoping to get some MUCH NEEDED SUN! Pretty sure that is not going to happen now in the RAIN. Can you tell I am a bit bitter about it?!?!? I have not been to the beach in over a year and was excited about going. Oh well we will still get to "get away," eat some yummy seafood, and of course hit up the outlet mall for some shopping!!! Well, I best go pack for the rainy beach! I'll let you know how the weekend turned out, despite the rain!!!!! Have a FABULOUS weekend=)

Coming to an end....

So how sad am I that it is Thursday of my Spring Break. I swear this has been the fastest week EVER. I hate how the holiday week flies by, but the work week takes its sweet time! Oh well, I will have 8 weeks left in the school year when I go back, so it can't last that long, at least that is what I am hoping for!

Brandon and I are meeting with the Realtor on Saturday to go in some of the houses we have been looking at. I am getting excited and nervous all at the same time! If we have our way, we would like to find something in a reasonable amount of time, so we can close middle to end of May and move in the end of May(after school is out)or the start of June. I know summer will keep me extremely busy with moving, and I am teaching Extended School year. I just can't sit at home all Summer, I will get bored and go spend money I don't need to spend! So therefore, when my boss asked me if I would teach Extended School Year, I jumped on it!!!! Plus, the money is good.

Also this summer, we are still planning to go on a trip with Chad, Lacey, Shay, and Josh sometime in June too, which will be a blast I know. This is something we are starting this year because our anniversaries are all in a row-Lacey/Chad-June 16th, Megan/Brandon-June 21st, Shay/Josh-June 26th. We don't know where we are going yet, but are excited about it!!!

Well, Jim and Diann are coming up today to spend some time with me and the girls, so I guess I better get a shower and straighted up some around here!! I will fill you in on how it goes with the Realtor Saturday!

Spring Break

So I am finally on Spring Break! I can not begin to tell you how much I needed a Vacation! I have no plans of course, because Brandon is working and can't really afford to take any time off. Surprisingly and luckily, he has been SUPER BUSY at work lately, which is wonderful when thinking about the economy.
I am kind of glad I am just going to be hanging out around here. I can just relax and do things i have a hard time doing during the work week. Like I REALLY need to clean the house, go get my eyes checked and get new glasses, get my hair cut, catch up on school work (the paper work aspect) and just be LAZY!
Brandon and I began looking for a house this weekend. Even though we have been told numerous times that Vestavia has not been effected by the housing market, there is not a whole lot out there in our price range. We did find one that is going to need some fixing up, but is a great little house, if you can look past the horrible wall paper and terrible decorations in the house! We are hopefully going to go looking again this weekend with a realtor. We went Sunday with Scott and Tammy. That was good and fun because they have great vision and have lived here for a long time and know where the good areas are as well as prices. The have updated almost all of thier houses and their vision for potential is GREAT. None hte less, this is an exciting time, and we are both just enjoying it, but wish us luck in the process!!!
I am going to go enjoy being lazy, and eventually clean the house (eventually being the key word)!!!!

Its SNOWING!!!

It is SNOWING!!!!! I was so depressed that I was not going to get to see any snow this year, and I even moved further north! But at last, the snow began to fall!!!! We had about 3 .5 to 4 inches! Brandon and I built a snowman, and let me just tell you, Barkley had a ball. He ran through the snow and would bite at it, and stick his nose in it!!! He was so cold and snowy wt he had frozen clumps of snow on his fur at his feet. I had to take him inside and run warm water on them to thaw them out! Brandon and I built a snowman that is about 3.5 ft tall Don't worry we took lots of pictures and of course I took video of Barkley running in the snow! I will post pictures in a minute!!! We are fixing to head to Scott and Tammy's to play in the snow with the girls, which should be a FUN time. Happy Snow Day to all and have FUN playing....I will.

Its been a while...

Ummm, since it has been a month since my last post, I decided I should update!!! Life has been busy as usual. Work keeps me busy of course. My lucky students had yesterday and today off of school because we unfortunate teachers had Professional Development. If you ask me, we the teachers are the ones that needed the VACATION! I don't know why, but I am soo burned out and dying for a break. Brandon has been busy to with work (which, don't get me wrong is GREAT considereing the Economy) he had to be out of town yesterday, has a meeting out of town tonight, has to be in Lee county by 7:30 in the moning ( I told him to be real quiet when he gets up at 4:15!) and then he has to be in Notasulga Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday morning. So it will just be me and Barkley Thursday and Friday night, which of course means a girls night with Amber=) and Jim and Diann gane a child for 2 nights! We are both hoping life will slow down a bit, and we are hoping to go looking at houses some this weekend...always exciting=) I hope everyone else is going well and staying busy, but not to busy, it gets tiring. I will try not to wait so long before I post again. Talk to you soon!!!

Our Road Trip

So the weekend rolled around again, and Brandon and I were wondering what we were going to do. We have been in Birminhham the past several weekends, just enjoying being at our house and not having to travel. However, we had NOTHING planned and wanted to do something different. So we decided to go on an Adventure!! We left yestetday morning and drove on 2 lane back roads up to Florence Alabama. The ride was quite pretty. We stopped at a national forest and walked down the trail where you would go to put your canoe in. It was so quiet and peaceful. The wate in the river was so blue and green. As you know it has been FREEZING here, so there were icicles hanging all over the rock next to the river. They were HUGE about 6 feet long and hung into the river. I thought they were so pretty. Oh yeah, and Barkley went with us, and he enjoyed running up and down the hills and smelling all the new smells! We then got back in the car and travel on to Florence. We drove around the campus of UNA it is sooo pretty. Then we ate at a local mexican restaurante, that was quite delicious!!! Then we headed home. But not with out going throuh Tuscumbia and driving by the birth house of the one and only...Helen Keller!!!! Unfortunately we were to late to go on the tour (guess we will have to save that for our next adventure!) The house is quite lovely! after that final stop we continued our drive back to Birmingham. I will say we had a great time, and plan to tour north alabama (Huntsville and all) next, only this time we will have to make a few more stops to sight see and or shop along the way!! Hope everyone has a great Holiday on Monday, Brandon and I are going to meet with as mortgage broker to get our ducks in a row, so we can start house hunting...how exciting!!!! I will let you know how that exprience goes. Until then...

Happy 2009....My vacation is OVER=(

Soooo, Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone had a fun NYE. We had a wonderful time, Lacey, Chad, Shay and Josh came up to Birmingham, and Brandon grilled steaks and I fixed everything else. We decided not to go out (to save money!) so we just stayed at the house and drank and played games. Yes that is right we played games, and I must say we had a BLAST. We played Catch Phrase and Apples to Apples. Both of which are fun while sober, but extremely funny and entertaining with alittle bit of alcohol in you system!!!! So none the less, we had fun welcoming in 2009, and I hope everyone will have wonderful and prosperous 2009!!!

Now on a sad note, This is officially my last day of vacation=(. I have a teacher work day tomorrow, and the kiddos will return to me on Tuesday. I will say I enjoyed my break. I spent some time in Montgomery, Columbus, undecorated and redecorated and rearranged my house, went shopping, saw Marley and Me with Tammy and the girls, entertained friends, and even managed to go to school to get some work done! Whew, I think I need a vacation from my vacation!!!! I am sad it is over, but not going to lie, I am ready to get back into my routine. I will start back hard core though because open enrollment for next year starts the 15th, so I will have to start testing, plus I have 2 referrals sitting on my desk from Early Intervention of kids that turn 3 in Feb. and March, and will need to be in my classroom.

I will say I think Barkley is going to go into a state of depression when I leave in the morning. He really has enjoyed having his mom home with him most of the day. Well I hope everyone enjoys there Sunday afternoon and are going to be as lazy and I am! It is quite nasty and extremely foggy outside on the mountain. Until next time.....have fun and be sweet=)
