The Christmas Rush is OVER!!!

Well like Always, Christmas comes and it goes. Although I am sad to see it go, I am glad the traveling is over. Santa was good to me as always, and I had several highlights including:
Ugg boots, the new Ralph Lauren Notorious perfume, brown boots, sex and the city the movie, more pieces to my Christmas china, a coat, and the fun essentials in the stocking!

Brandon and I finally got home on Saturday, and Allison and Ryan were in town for a wedding, so they spent the night and as always, we had a FABULOUS time catching up!

Sunday was a day of undecorating, cleaning up and out, and re-arranging the house....Always makes for a good time=). I will say I am much more pleased with how my house looks! I was informed of some sad news by Tammy. The Royal Standard my FAVORITE store in downtown Homewood was going out of business=( However, everything was half off! Royal Standard sells neat unique gifts and some antiques, and they are incredibly inexpensive.

Have no fear, I was there first thing Monday morning!!! I got some presents for next year and some cute things for my house. Brandon meet me down there on his lunch break, because I dare not make a big purchase without consulting him!!! We got a pretty brass/iron light fixture for our future home (it was only $85.00) then I got a big beautifully framed beveled glass mirror it was ($100), and a pretty wreath that is not Christmas. Needless to say, I am VERY excited and pleased, however, sad that my favorite store is closing. If I can figure out how, I will post pictures of my purchases!!!! Until then, I am going to enjoy my week off and do some work for school and around the house!!!!!!

Christmas...3 days and counting!

Can you believe Christmas is like 3.5 days away??? I sure can't. We had the Holston family Christmas today and that was crazy as always. All 14 of us were at mom and dad's in Montgomery. I will say we had fun none the less. In case you didn't notice (Allison, I know you did) I never posted pictures of my house decorated. That is because the didn't save when Brandon went to put them on here. I mean if he can't do it and it not work I SURE CAN NOT even try to do it. Oh well, we will have to try again.

I am in Montgomery for the next couple of days. Brandon has to work Monday and Tuesday, so I just stayed in Montgomery. I have to go to the Dr. for a procedure tomorrow and I had nothing to do in Birmingham. Tuesday I am going to Columbus with mom and dad to have dinner and go to a play with Brandon's parents. Brandon is going to meet us over there and then we will come back to Montgomery for Christmas craziness and travel. We will spend Christmas eve night in Montgomery, have Christmas morning, and eat Christmas lunch with my family then it is off to Columbus for Christmas dinner. Then back to Birmingham Saturday! WOW I am tired just typing out our schedule!!! I am excited about New Years, I think Lacey and Chad and Shay and Josh are coming up to Birmingham to go out and stay with us!!! Should be fun as always! Well I am about to go to bed, it is my bed time you know!!!!!

Under the Weather

Sorry it has been so long, I have had a lot going on. I guess it just comes with this time of the year. I will say I had fun doing all that I have had to do though! Unfortunately I was under the weather this weekend, and spent it in my pjs on the couch. I mean its not like I had anything to be doing...YEAH RIGHT! I got NOTHING done. I will say my sweet husband took good care of me.

The most exciting thing I did, and I will say took all my effort and energy to do was....Brandon suprised me with tickets to see the Rockettes radio city Christmas spectacular!!! It was soo good and I loved every minute of it, and it took my mind off of my pain for a small while!!! Like I said I have the bestestand sweetest husband in the world!!!

I am gearing up for my last week of school, I am sure it will be busy. Our class party will be Thursday, where we will wear our pj's and watch the Polar Express!!! I know you are jealous. Well it is just about my bed time, but here are pictures of my christmas decor...

Decorating!

Hey friends! I know it has been a few days since I have posted. I have been Busy. Brandon was out of town Monday night, so Barkley and I wrapped all of our Christmas presents and made wreaths! Yes, I made all our wreaths for our house this year. I made one Saturday night as an experiment, and it really turned out cute. I tied a bow on a wreath I got at Hobby Lobby, then I wrapped ornaments by their hangers around the branches of the wreath, then we wrapped lights around it and hung it on the front door. It was very easy, and turned out very cute, so I decided to do another one for the big picture window on the house and then 2 small ones on the other 2 windows. Needless to say I have been super Christmasey this year!!! We got our tree put up and I put live garland up on the mantle and hung a live wreath above it. I will try and take pictures and post them tonight.

It was so much fun to finally be able to decorate our home for Christmas. We have so much more room and decorations now than we did in Auburn! I will say that I think I have already Christmased Brandon to death!!!! I am still enjoying it though=)

Well I am off to finish up some work, have a great rest of the day and Happy Wednesday!!! Just remember the week is half way over!!!

Iron bowl Day...War Eagle!

So we are back from all of our family road trips. That was whirl wind of family time. But none the less, we had a great time as always with both of our families. We saw once again that we are truly blessed to have such loving and supporting families. We got to see the Birmingham crew and the Prattville crew, and let me just tell you that baby James is one BIG baby...he is only 5 months old and already has his first tooth, and his feet are rather large too!! I think he is going to be bigger than his daddy. Then we drove to Columbus, where we got to see Brandon's Parents, brother, cousins and aunts and uncles. The only bad part about the trip was we had to eat again, and that was not fun!!!

Friday we were not out at 4am like some crazy people. I just don't think there is any sale worth getting up that early for. We did go to the Sample Shop a local store in town, where I used the rest of my wedding credit to get stockings and stocking holders. They are so pretty, and I can't wait to put them up! I love Christmas decorating, and I am so excited about decorating our home for the first time, and knowing we will get to enjoy it the whole month of December unlike college days. I am excited to decorate some this afternoon! I will post pictures of the inside and out when I am finished!!!

Well it is that time of year again...the IRON BOWL. So of course Brandon has the bourbon and coke flowing! But I will say, I am most excited about curling up on my couch to watch it. I hope it is not as ugly as it possibly could be! I will be cheering on the tigers no matter what!

Well, I know most of you will be watching the game today to, so cheer hard and hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised by the turn out!!!

WAR EAGLE!!!!

The Day before Thanksgiving

Well it is the day before Thanksgiving, and I have a 5 day weekend, greatly needed! Although I don't have to go into work today, I have a lovely list of work to do around the house. I have to clean, dust, swiffer, bathe the dog, clean the bathrooms, and cook all my goodies for Montgomery and Columbus. I think I am going to need a vacation from my vacation!!

Being newly married, these holidays can get tricky and crazy. We are going to be spending a great deal of the next 3 days on the road. You have to be fair to both sets of parents, because you don't want anyone to get upset. Unfortunately Brandon has to work a full day today so we wont get out of here till late this afternoon. Then it is on to good 'ole Montgomery. Scott, Tammy and the girls will come down tomorrow for lunch then Lee, Stacy, the girls and James will come after they eat with her family. We will get to visit for a short while, then it is off to C-town for Thanksgiving Dinner (like I am going to want to eat again)! To be fair we are going to come back to Birmingham Friday afternoon, plus I want to start decorating for Christmas!!! I am so excited to finally have a Home to decorate, and we will be the WHOLE month to enjoy it, unlike we were during the college days.

Well you saw my list of "Chores" I have to do today, so I better get started! At least I have Barkley here to keep me company!!!

I hope you all have a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving, and please be careful if you are traveling!

So I decided to start Blogging!

So I decided to start blogging! I feel like I have lost touch with so many people, so I am hoping that I can catch back up with them and they can catch back up with me. I will give a quick blurb of what we are doing.

Brandon and I got married on June 21, 2008 in Montgomery. We had a wonderful wedding day and a fabulous honeymoon in St. Lucia. We now live in Birmingham Alabama. I teach pre-school (3 and 4 year olds) in Vestavia. I love my job, very different from my last job (self contained Special Education) however, I am still working with special ed children, I just get to work with typical children as well. Brandon work for Goodwyn, Mills and Caywood, where he is a Community Planner. He stays very busy, but really seems to like his job. I still have Barkley, and he is sweeter than ever, and likes Brandon just alittle bit more than he used to! We are renting a house in Vestavia and are hoping and looking to buy a house in the same area this spring.

As many of you know I did not have much of a relationship with my brother Scott. However, since we have lived in B'ham, we have gotten alot closer. He pops in for visits, calls, invites us over or out to eat. So I am really excited about that, it was along time coming!

Brandon and I are getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving. Montgomery tomorrow night and lunch on Thursday, then to Columbus for dinner and to spend the night, then back to Birmingham to watch football and decorate for Christmas.

Well that is all for now, I am going to have to get use to this!!!
